With such materials they draw their map to find Tengo and Aomame. But until they merge, time merges with place, the calendar with the map, the hourglass with the compass, merge, go crazy, become their true selves and explode into two pale and green paper moons. And they never end. Haruki Murakami's masterful magnum opus isn't over either, not really. It's just that the narrative lowers its gaze and hides as it likes to do, hides between the great Never and the tiny Always, breathes, longs, dreams and falls silent, triumphantly amorous, uncompromising.
