A high school teacher, angry with the world, decides to end his life. Scholarly and cool, he has chosen the date: in a year. Until then, every night he will write, in the apartment he shares with his dog Pepa and with a library that he is gradually getting rid of, a personal chronicle, hard and caustic, but given with stoicism, source humor and unexpected tenderness. By writing, he seeks to justify his radical decision, to reveal even the last particle of his private life, to narrate his past and the many daily stories of a Spain in political upheaval. Relentless, with his scalpel he dissects on every page his parents, his insufferable brother, his ex-wife Amalia, whom he cannot get over, his troubled son Nikita, but also his sarcastic friend Koutsavlos. And, unexpectedly, a woman named Ageda. In the successive love and family episodes of this addictive human multitude, Tony, a man disoriented but determined to recount his misfortunes, delivers, paradoxically, an unforgettable life lesson.
