The case unfolds in 1889, when the enslaved Greeks attempt with a new uprising to free themselves from the Turkish yoke.
This upheaval, this fiery rebellion is part of the never-ending quest for freedom, even if in the end the price is death.
In Captain Michalis, man's drive towards justice against tyranny is clearly depicted, composing a mosaic of faces and cultures that clash and at the same time try to find common ground.
