Girlfriend, my hazel

A hazel tree grew by chance in a gray neighborhood of Athens. But the wonderful friendship that developed between the neighborhood children and the lonely tree was not at all accidental. The story of Fudukia unfolds like a road race. One after the other, the narrators pass the... baton to unfold the meaning of the story. When one day the tree is threatened by the bulldozer, the entire neighborhood will passionately try to save it. The Hazelnut will become a symbol of hope, cooperation for a common purpose, and love for nature, in an atmosphere of humanity and emotion. The book was awarded the Janusz Korczak Prize in 1985 in Poland.
