The Colors You Taught Me

I helped him, initially with questions, assumptions and a soft voice. With surgical movements, as carefully as when you go to touch a half-open shell, which closes as you approach it, I wanted to approach him, to learn his story. I knew that at any moment I could lose him. This is always one of the main things we work on in psychotherapy. To soften our defenses, to understand that bending is not weakness, but strength. Fragments and paths that have been encountered in the healing room joined and composed these paths, with the sole purpose of the one who will read them to meet himself, his neighbor, his child or his parent, the one who chose to walk together and that that he left behind but carries him inside. You often find yourself looking to blame, the judgmental mom, the distant dad, the inconsistent ex, resigned present… Don't do it. We are not looking for a culprit. We want to understand, because understanding is also the first step towards redemption. With the knowledge of clinical psychology as a valuable tool, but at the same time with simple and understandable language, the stories seek to make a brave dive into the complex and colorful human soul.
